Katerina L’dokova was born in Minsk, Belarus, into a family of classical pianists. Later, the unpredictable forces of emigration take her to the most unexpected of geographies - the Azores, mysterious Portuguese islands in the Atlantic. Here she does not only learn Portuguese, but also discovers her passion for contemporary Portuguese music and jazz: her becoming of age as a composer begins.
In 2019, after having written dozens of songs and played extensively at festivals, she reflects upon her path in her latest album named ‘Travessia’ - The Crossing. Fusing both popular and erudite Portuguese music and poetry, with her unique accent Katerina sings the new Portuguese contemporary.
Together with bassist João Fragoso and trumpeter Diogo Duque Katerina will perform live from Lisbon.
